In the summer of 2024 a membership space became available at Oamaru based club, Pottery on Tyne and I was thrilled. With the resurgence of pottery in the last few years many clubs across NZ are at peak capacity and unable to accept new members. With David Atkinson, renown NZ potter as 'resident’, I was stepping into very good company. While the club is a 4 hour return drive from my rural home, I went across weekly and some times twice a week to soak up the world of pottery, observe potters at their craft and quietly find my feet. And something surprising unfolded, amongst the attempts and failures, an innate ability was also taking shape and showing up.

After some months I was gifted a ‘beauty’ of an old pottery wheel by fellow potter and club member, Ferne. Being able to practice pottery from my home has been an absolute game changer for my growth and confidence.

I don’t intentionally craft pottery to sell, but I do love making pottery to share. And recently I have decided to offer pieces here for sale, of which I am happy to carefully wrap and post across NZ. My pricing honours my time, materials and evolving craft. I appreciate it won’t gel with everyone.
